Installing Kodak Preps 10 is a critical update for prepress professionals, transitioning the industry-standard imposition software from legacy dongle-based licensing to a modern software-based system. Post-Installation
After the installation completed, Alex launched Kodak Preps 10 to ensure it worked as expected. The software initialized, and Alex was greeted with the main interface. Once the installation is complete, you will be
installing Preps to ensure Kodak plug-ins are correctly placed. The Installation Process
System & preparation (assume a modern Windows environment)
- Check system requirements: 64-bit Windows, minimum RAM 8–16 GB (prefer 16+ GB for large jobs), sufficient disk space (50+ GB recommended for large workflows).
- Permissions: Use an account with local admin rights. Disable antivirus or add installer to exclusions temporarily to avoid blocked files.
- Backups: Back up existing Preps settings and any custom templates or databases before upgrading or reinstalling.
- License info: Have your serial number or license server details ready (dongle, license file, or network license server address).
