Yu Takeuchi (1927–2014) was a Japanese-born mathematician who became a foundational figure in Colombian mathematics after moving to the country in 1959. Known as "the father of Colombian mathematics," he authored over 40 books designed to make complex topics like calculus and mathematical analysis accessible to students.
