In the sprawling, chaotic history of Argentine rock, few bands have cultivated such a devoted cult following while remaining deliberately elusive as Tijeritas (Spanish for "Small Scissors"). Formed in the post-dictatorship creative explosion of 1986 in La Plata, the band was never a commercial powerhouse. Instead, they were alchemists, stitching together the frayed edges of folkloric rhythms (Chacarera, Vidala, Carnavalito) with the jagged, nascent electronics of industrial music and early samplers.

Phase II: The "Golden Trio" Era (1994–2002)
