Here is everything you need to know about the biggest update in the history of Smash 64 modding. Conker (Conker’s Bad Fur Day): The most shocking addition
The roster continues to expand with iconic additions and "bonus" slot surprises: New Challengers: Crash Bandicoot and Princess Peach join the fray as fully realized fighters.
Expansion Pak Required: Note that this version requires the N64 Expansion Pak to run.
- Conker (Conker’s Bad Fur Day): The most shocking addition. Conker isn't a Nintendo mascot in the traditional sense; he’s Rare’s foul-mouthed, hungover squirrel. His moveset is a love letter to his own game—frying pan normals, a context-sensitive "pants" mechanic, and a down-air that involves him drunkenly vomiting. He feels out of place in the best way possible, bringing a Rated-M energy to a game rated E.
- Marina (Mischief Makers): A deep cut for the true N64 aficionado. Marina, from Treasure’s cult classic 2D platformer, is the most mechanically unique character in the hack. Her entire gimmick revolves around her “Shake, Grab, Throw” mechanic. She can catch projectiles, shake enemies to stun them, and even grab ledges from halfway across the stage. Playing as Marina feels like solving a physics puzzle while your opponent is trying to punch you.
- Ryu & Ken (Street Fighter Alpha): Yes, Street Fighter characters in a 2.5D platform fighter. Their implementation is bizarrely faithful. They retain their "Face-Forward" fighting stance (always facing the opponent, even off-stage). They have light/medium/heavy attacks based on how hard you tap the A button, and input commands (Hadoken: Down, Down-Forward, Forward + A). Watching Ryu cancel a heavy kick into a Shoryuken on Dream Land is a beautiful kind of heresy.
- Conker (from Conker’s Bad Fur Day)
- Marth and Lucina (from Fire Emblem)
- Several new stages (e.g., Clock Town, Jungle Japes)
- Revised HUD options, shield visuals, and network improvements for online play (Kaillera).
- Open the patcher, select your clean ROM, apply the patch file, and save the patched ROM.
