4.6 Rendering & Output

  • Rhino Render: Basic. Good for clay models.
  • Rhino 7 & 8's "Cycles" Render: Physically based lighting. Good enough for production.
  • Export for CNC: Make2D (Creates technical drawings). Export as .STL (Mesh for 3D printing). Export as .STEP (For Solidworks/Inventor).
  • The Metal Rule: Always use Mesh command before exporting to STL. Set density to "Fine" or "Custom." A bad mesh ruins a print.
