What to do if you are locked out
- For a terminal supplied by a bank/processor: Contact their technical support. They often have a unique "installer code" or can remotely reset the password.
- For a second-hand or decommissioned unit: You may need to flash the original PAX firmware using a USB drive and a specific key combination (usually Power + Volume Up). This wipes all data and restores the defaults above.
- Lost admin access: There is no publicly available backdoor. PAX does not provide a universal "master reset" password for security reasons.
