Motorola Gm360 Programming Software May 2026
Motorola GM360 — Overview & programming software
What the GM360 is
- The Motorola GM360 is a VHF/UHF commercial two-way mobile radio commonly used in fleets, public safety, and business radio systems.
- Key features: modular design, programmable channels, wide/narrowband support, multiple accessory options, and compatibility with Motorola MOTOTRBO-era accessories in some variants.
Operating System: Because the GM360 is a legacy device, the software is best run on older operating systems like Windows XP or Windows 7. While some users have successfully used Windows 11 via tools like DOSBox 0.74, a native legacy environment or virtual machine is generally more reliable. Key Features Managed:
Programming software options
- Motorola OEM: MOTOTRBO Customer Programming Software (CPS) — For later Motorola commercial radios; older GM-series used Motorola’s legacy CPS. Availability depends on radio firmware and region; OEM CPS provides full access to channel, PL/DPL, power, scan, ANI, and system features.
- Third-party tools:
Problem 1: “Radio Failed to Acknowledge” or “Communication Timeout”
- Cause: COM port mismatch, bad cable, or low radio power.
- Fix: Check Device Manager for the correct COM port. Try a different USB port. Ensure the radio is receiving at least 11.8V DC. If using a USB-to-serial adapter, try a slower baud rate (9600) in the CPS preferences.
