  • Press Monitor to open the squelch and hear weak signals or background noise; release to return to normal squelch.

Method B: The 5-Channel PROM Model

  • These have a small 8-pin chip.
  • You need a Motorola "SP10 Programming Jig" (rare) and an ancient DOS computer running RSS (Radio Service Software).
  • Recommendation: Do not attempt this yourself. Search for "Motorola Radius SP10 programming near me" or send it to a vintage radio shop. Expect to pay $40-$70.
