Important Disclaimer: There are different types of "resets" for this model. Performing a full reset (especially via Simulation codes) will erase programmed settings and counters. Proceed with caution.

Step 3: Enter sub-code 1 and press Start to reset the maintenance counter. Resetting Admin or User Passwords

Wait: Keep the machine off and unplugged from the wall socket for at least 60 seconds to allow all residual power to dissipate.

After replacing parts like the drum or developer, you must reset the internal counters:

The default password is often admin or sharp (case-sensitive).

The display should go blank or show a prompt, indicating you are in simulation mode. 2. Clear System Errors (e.g., H4 Error) To clear common fuser or system errors: Enter 14 using the number pad. Press the [Start] button.

  1. Enter Simulation mode (Clear + Interrupt + Power ON).
  2. Type 4 2, press Start.
  3. The display will show 42-01.
  4. Press Start. The display will flash - - -.
  5. Wait 30 seconds. The machine will calibrate the developer bias.
  6. When the display stops flashing, press Clear, then turn the machine OFF/ON.

The machine will initialize and reboot, clearing the active error. Reset Maintenance Counters Access Simulation Mode ( [#] → [Interrupt] → [C] → [Interrupt] to reset the drum counter or for developer initialization. Admin & Network Resets Default Credentials
