GTA San Andreas 50MB: The Ultimate Guide to the Compact Classic

- Audio Degradation (The Biggest Cut): San Andreas is famous for its licensed soundtrack (200+ songs) and full voice acting by Samuel L. Jackson, James Woods, and Young Maylay. In the 50MB version, these are destroyed. Music is removed entirely. Voice lines are converted to 8-bit, mono, 11kHz audio—sounding like a broken radio. Some versions delete voices entirely, leaving only subtitles.
- Texture Reduction: The detailed graffiti, road textures, character faces, and clothes are reduced to 16x16 or 32x32 pixel blocks. Everything looks like a blurry impressionist painting.
- Draw Distance Zero: In the original, you can see Mount Chiliad from Los Santos. In the 50MB version, fog covers everything beyond 10 feet. This allows the game engine to unload geometry instantly.
- Removal of Cutscenes: All pre-rendered cutscenes are removed. The story is told via static images or text overlays.
- Model Simplification: Cars are blockier. Pedestrians are stick-figure-adjacent. Vegetation is removed.
User123: OMG IT WORKS TYSM!
GamerBoy99: A bit laggy but full map! 10/10.
- Installation: Took 8 seconds.
- Loading Screens: Instant transitions between cities.
- FPS: Surprisingly stable at 30 frames per second (even during the "Grove Street" gang war).
