The Iron Roots: Remembering the "Bar Family" 2011 Workout Era
In the history of modern fitness, few movements have had as lasting an impact on street culture and aesthetics as the global explosion of Calisthenics and "Ghetto Workouts" in the early 2010s. At the heart of this movement was a collective known simply as the Bar Family.
If you're looking for a workout similar to or inspired by the Bar Method or any general barre workout from around 2011, here are some key components often included in such routines: bar family 2011 workout
Day 4: Power & Volume (Thursday)
- Warm-up: 3 rounds of 5 burpees + 10 mountain climbers.
- Main Lift: Power Cleans (or Hang Cleans for beginners) – 8 sets of 3 reps, explosive focus.
- EDT Block (15 minutes): Superset of Front Squats + Dips (or bench dips).
- Family Set: 100 total push-ups. Split however you want, but you cannot stop moving.
- 3-mile run
- Then, 3 rounds of:
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart
- Hold dumbbells at shoulder height with your palms facing forward
- Press the dumbbells straight up over your head
- Lower the dumbbells back to the starting position
