This paper examines the feasibility, architecture, security implications, and practical usage of an "ADB AppControl Activation Key" mechanism — a system that uses Android Debug Bridge (ADB) alongside an activation-key workflow to enable or configure app features on Android devices without distributing updates through app stores. We define possible designs, enumerate threat models, propose secure protocols, and evaluate usability and deployment considerations. Recommendations and an implementation reference are provided.
